Aromatherapy Marjoram
Orinanum majorana
Distilled from the flowering heads of
sweet marjoram, this Labiate grows in Spain, southern France and Tunisia. It was
grown and used in ancient times by the Egyptians. The oil is
colourless with a persistent odor. A very 'comforting' oil if low
in spirits. Always buy this oil by its Latin name as Spanish
marjoram (Thymus mastichina), which is sold as marjoram, is not
a marjoram at all, but a variety of thyme, and has different
properties and effects.
