Cellulite

The appearance on the surface of the skin of unseemly bulges which are puckered and have a mattress-like feel is the first sign of cellulite, the upper thighs, the regions of the buttocks and the upper arms are the areas in the body that tend to be affected by cellulite deposits. If the skin is pinched or gripped it feels tender and tight, and the bulges can be felt by passing the hand over the affected area. Cellulitis, which is an infection of the skin's connective tissue, should not be confused with cellulite.

A failure in or an improper removal of toxins is the reason cellulite buildup begins in the body, this is more so in the lymphatic system, as the area around the nodes is the first place cellulite appears. The causes of cellulite is often due to a poor fluid intake, which is also the result of an insufficient diet and is finally related to chronic constipation. The adipose tissue which contains fat cells, and which lies near the surface of the skin, is the tissue that cellulite affects. Individual physiques plays a big role in the onset and development of cellulite, this is because the distribution of fat within the body is dissimilar among women and is different in the two sexes. The best preventive measure that one can take against the appearance of cellulite is to reduce and burn body fat, through regular exercises and a proper diet; since it is a sudden weight gain which causes cellulite to appear as bulges under the skin.
