Yellow pit viper / Fer de lance

Bothrops lanceolatus / Lachesis lanceolatus

This is an extremely poisonous snake. It is gray or brown and marked by a series of black-edged diamonds, often bordered in a lighter color. Its bite can be fatal to humans. If a limb is bitten it swells rapidly to an enormous size and becomes infected and gangrenous.

Uses

Bothrops is used mainly for thrombosis or hemorrhaging. It can also be used for left-sided strokes with right-sided paralysis and an inability to articulate or to remember correct words. Generally, people who require this remedy are sluggish or weary and experience nervous trembling.
