'Red Lion' Roses

'Red Lion' rose bears high-centered, radiant cherry red flowers having wonderful substance. Each flower of this hybrid tea rose variety measures about 5 inches across and is composed of as many as 35 to 40 petals.

Soon after the flowers open, the petals curl back into a quill that gives the blooms a star-like outline. The plants grow up to a height of anything between 5 feet and 6 feet and have extra-large foliage with a leathery texture.

When the flowers are fully open, they measure 4 inches to 6 inches each. The plants of this rose grow up to a height of anything between 4 feet to 5 feet and have dark green, semi-glossy foliage with a leathery texture. The canes are full of thorns.

'Swarthmore' Roses

'Touch of Class' Roses

Rosarians have a preference for this particular hybrid tea rose. 'Touch of Class' rose has been regularly winning ribbons at rose shows owing to flawless formation and high-centred flowers.

While this rose has been a star performer, it cannot be called prima donna. Actually, 'Touch of Class' rose is an excellent garden plant and it is in bloom constantly all through the growing season.

This rose bears large, double flowers having a medium pink hue dappled with cream and coral. One of the flaws of this rose is that it only offers a light fragrance. This apart, the rose is excellent for your garden.

'Tropicana' Roses

Introduced - 1960

'Tropicana' rose bears vivid orange-red blossoms having a fruit-like fragrance. The flowers are large and double each measuring anything between 4 inches and 5 inches across. This rose produces very large and pointed buds that unfurl into high-centered, cupped flowers that appear singly.

The blooming season of 'Tropicana' rose is relatively long and the color of the flowers does not fade even when grown in hot weather conditions. The foliage is dark green and glossy. The plants are upright and bushy and have a vigorous growth.

When grown in garden beds and borders, the radiant colors of the flowers can often be spectacular. However, you will find it difficult to blend this rose in a mixed border with blooms of soft pastel shades. 'Tropicana' rose is an excellent source of cut flowers. The plants are, however, susceptible to mildew.

'Uncle Joe' Roses

'Uncle Joe' This rose is often listed as 'Toro' and it bears double blooms, each measuring 6 inches across, which are borne individually on long stems. The buds of 'Uncle Joe' unfurls slowly into high-centered blooms whose color varies from average to dark red.

The flowers of this hybrid tea rose have a potent fragrance. The leaves of this rose are large, dark green, glossy and have a leathery texture. The plants have a vigorous growth and have a tall and upright habit.

The stems are strong enough to hold the hue flowers of 'Uncle Joe'. 'Uncle Joe' rose is ideal for growing in garden beds and borders. In addition, they are superb for cutting. However, if this rose is grown in places having cool and damp weather conditions, it may inhibit flower production.

'White Delight' Roses

Introduced - 1989

The name of this hybrid tea rose notwithstanding, 'White Delight' does not bear pure white blooms. Instead, the flowers of this rose have an ivory hue that merges with soft pink at the center, while the external petals have a pink tinge.

Each flower of 'White Delight' measures about 4 ½ inches across and is composed of 30 to 40 petals. They make an excellent contrast against the dark green foliage, which has a leathery texture.

The plants of this rose grow up to a height to anything between 4 feet and 5 ½ feet and they produce long stems that are excellent for cutting.
