When the breeders introduced this rose onto the market, they claimed it to be "the environmental rose". In fact, 'Flower Carpet Pink' rose is a shrub that thrived even with no protection of its sprays. This rose variety is reliable and hardy when grown in places having cool weather conditions.
However, in the Southeast, 'Flower Carpet Pink' is susceptible to both black spot and mildew. This rose grows most excellently when it is provided with some protection from the hot afternoon sun. In its preferred climatic conditions, 'Flower Carpet Pink' rose is known to be a wonderful shrub which can be used in the form of a low hedge or even as a ground cover.
Additionally, this rose can be grown together with other perennials in a mixed border. Each semi-double flower of this rose is about 1 ½ inches (3.8 cm) across and has a deep pink hue.

'Frau Dagmar Hartopp' is a compact rugosa which is a perfect rose for growing in relatively smaller gardens. The flowers appear singly, have a pale pink hue and are clove-scented. When the flowers are fully open they reveal knots of golden hued stamens at their center. The plants re-bloom all through the summer.

'Frühlingsmorgen' rose, also produced by Kordes nursery, has a vigorous nature, but its appearance is deceptively delicate.
The name of this rose denotes "spring morning" and actually, it is among the first flowers to bloom in the spring. This rose has a simple charm, which reminds one of a species variety. Similar to the wild roses, 'Frühlingsmorgen' does not re-bloom. Although the plant produces a few flowers during the later part of the year, one should not count on this.
The flowers of 'Frühlingsmorgen' are large, appear singly and the color of their petals varies from pink rose to cherry pink. In the center, the flowers have a primrose yellow hue which is encircled with bright maroon colored stamens. This rose is excellent for growing as a flowering hedge. However, it is also effective when grown independently as a specimen shrub.
