'Peach Fuzz' is among the "mossed" miniature roses and like any other "moss" rose, the buds as well as the stems of 'Peach Fuzz' are swathed with soft hairs. This variety of rose bears apricot-pink hued buds that unfurl into same color blooms.

Each flower of this rose comprises about 25 to 30 petals. The plants have a rounded shape and grow up to a height of anything between 14 inches and 20 inches. The foliage is glossy and resistant to diseases.

'Pearlie Mae' Roses

Grandiflora, Introduced - 1981

This rose variety is among the hardy, prairie roses bred by Griffith Buck. This rose has been appropriately named after the singer Pearl Bailey, for it is not only an excellent performer but also a genuine trouper. 'Pearlie Mae' is a shrub that has vigorous growth and tendency to sprawl.

It is a bushy grandiflora that produces deep pink hued buds, which appear in clusters of one to eight. The buds unfurl into golden yellow blooms tinged with salmon. Each flower of this rose measures about 4 inches (10 cm) across. The foliage of 'Pearlie Mae' is dark olive green and has a leathery texture.

As the plants always remain healthy, 'Pearlie Mae' is an excellent choice for growing as a specimen shrub. Alternatively, it can also be grown as an accent shrub in any flower border. Moreover, this rose is also an excellent source of cut flowers.

'Pearl Meidiland' Roses

Shrub, Introduced - 1989

The sparkling flowers of 'Pearl Meidiland' have a delicate pink hue. The blooms are semi-double and appear in clusters all through the summer. Individual flowers of 'Pearl Meidiland' measure 2 inches to 3 inches across. The plants are robust and grow vigorously spreading to 6 feet wide or up to 2 feet high. The foliage is dark green.

'Pelé' Roses

Climber, Introduced - 1979

As the name suggests, this rose has been named after the famous soccer player Pelé'. From the technical point of view, 'Pelé' is a climbing hybrid tea and it does not have any bush counterpart. The flowers of 'Pelé' are double, white hued and measure about 4 inches in diameter.

Each flower of this rose variety comprises about 35 petals. The blooms appear in small sprays all through the growing season and they have a slight fruity scent. The plant has an upright habit and its canes grow up to a height of 10 feet. The canes are covered with triangular, medium green foliage and produce hooked thorns.

'Penelope' Roses

Hybrid Musk, Introduced - 1924

'Penelope' bears salmon hued buds that unfurl into shell pink blooms and as the flowers mature, their color fades to white. The blooms are semi-double and display radiant yellow stamens at their hub. The blooms are borne in very large clusters and have a rich musky fragrance.

Once the flowering is over, 'Penelope' produces ornamental coral hued hips that remain on the canes for many weeks. The leaves are dark green, ribbed and glossy. 'Penelope' plants are compact and vigorous. They grow as tall as wide. In fact, 'Penelope' is a wonderful choice for growing in a flowering hedge or in a hedge that has a mixture of other flowering shrubs.

Alternatively, you may also grow this rose in perennial flower beds. 'Penelope' has the ability to endure partial shade and is quite resistant to diseases. However, the plants have been found to be susceptible to mildew.

'Perfect Moment' Roses

Hybrid Tea, Introduced - 1989

This rose variety bears exceptional, flashy flowers with a yellow base and edges having a red tinge. In fact, the blooms of 'Perfect Moment' are conspicuous in a rose bed. The high-centered flowers of 'Perfect Moment' last for a long period and are faintly fragrant.

Each flower measures anything between 4 inches and 4 ½ inches across and comprises 35 petals. The plants of 'Perfect Moment' grow up to a height of 4 ½ feet, while the foliage is dark green and exceptionally resistant to diseases.

'Perle des Jardins' Roses

About a century back, florists considered this rose was to be the standard of what a yellow rose ought to be. The rose is capable of maintaining its color well provided they are grown in a site that gets some shade during the afternoon. 'Perle d'Or' rose is a shrub whose size depends on the climatic conditions in the place where it is grown.

In nearly all gardens, 'Perle d'Or' rose grows up to a height of 4 feet and has an equal width. However, the plants are smaller in size when grown in the northern periphery of its range. Moreover, plants grown in the Deep South are significantly more expansive.

'Permanent Wave' Roses

Floribunda, Introduced - 1935

'Permanent Wave' rose is an offspring of 'Else Poulsen' - the first floribunda which bears single radiant rose-pink blooms. This rose has been named 'Permanent Wave' because the petals are very ruffled, which is very different from those of 'Else Poulsen'.

The flowers of 'Permanent Wave' are also single, each comprising 10 petals. However, their color varies from radiant deep pink to carmine-red. The individual bloom measures about 2 inches to 2 ½ inches across and the slightly fragrant flowers appear in small sprays.

'Permanent Wave' plant is extremely vigorous - so much so that when they are in bloom, they appear to be swathed with flowers. The foliage of this rose variety is dark green and glossy. The plants are bushy and grow up to a height of 4 feet to 4 feet. They are also very winter hardy, but unfortunately prone to mildew.

'Petite de Hollande' Roses

Centifolia, Introduced - 1800

The flowers of 'Petite de Hollande' are borne in clusters and are double and have a rose pink hue. The individual flower measures about 1 ½ inches in diameter and have cupped shapes when it is fully open revealing their darker centers.

The flowers of 'Petite de Hollande' have a sweet fragrance. Like the delicate scale of the blooms of 'Petite de Hollande', its leaves are small too. The leaves are coarsely jagged and glossy. The plants of 'Petite de Hollande' grow up to a moderate height.

They are bushy as well as dense and perfect for growing in containers and smaller gardens. In addition, they can be trained to grow as a standard. This rose is not only hardy, but also resistant to diseases.

'Pierrine' Roses

Miniature, Introduced - 1988

The blossoms of 'Pierrine' rose are double, high-centered and have a moderate salmon pink hue, while the color of the flowers are paler on the reverse. The flowers of this rose variety are borne singly on the stem and each flower comprises as many as 40 petals. The fragrance of 'Pierrine' reminds one of damask roses.

The leaves of 'Pierrine' plants are medium green and partially glossy having serrated edges. The stems have pale green curved thorns. The hips are round shaped and their color may vary from green to orange-yellow.

This plant has an upright habit and grows up to a moderate height. As the size of the plants is very small, this rose is very effective when grown as a container specimen or in the form of an edging.
