'Uncle Joe' Roses

Hybrid Tea, Introduced - 1971

The flowers of 'Uncle Joe' rose (often listed as 'Toro') are double blooms appearing singly on long stems. The buds of this rose unfurl slowly to develop into high-centered flowers whose color varies from medium to dark red. Each flower of 'Uncle Joe' or 'Toro' measures 6 inches across and has a potent fragrance.

The leaves are large, glossy, dark green and have a leathery texture. The plants of this rose have a robust growth with a tall and upright habit. The stems of 'Uncle Joe' are very strong and capable of holding up huge flowers.

This rose is ideal for growing in garden beds and borders and very suitable for use as cut flowers. However, if the plants are grown in places having cool and damp weather conditions, they may inhibit production of flowers.
