'Valerie Jeanne' produced round buds that unfurl into very double, deep magenta-pink hued flowers. The blooms are high-centered and they open flat borne on a single stem or appearing in large sprays.
Each flower of this rose measures about 1 ½ inches across and comprise of as many as 55 to 60 petals. The stems grow up to a length of 15 inches to 18 inches and are clothed with glossy foliage. The stems produce several straight, long, slender thorns.

'Variegata di Bologna' is an exceptional type of rose because every flower of this rose is different in coloration from the other. When grown in a sunny spot, 'Veilchenblau' rose bears reddish purple buds which unfurl into small, semi-double blooms having purple-violet hue with white streaks. In fact, this variety of rose can not only endure partial shade, but it performs best and exhibits the best colors when grown in such conditions.

Though this rose has been named 'Virginia Rose' it grows in the wild very far towards the north as well as the south of this state in the United States. The range where this rose is found growing extends naturally from Newfoundland to Alabama in the south to Missouri in the west.
Irrespective of the place where this rose grows, 'Virginia Rose' offers color all through the year. In spring, this plant offers bronzy new foliage, while the arching canes have a red hue in the middle of the cold winter months. The leaves of this rose are medium green and semi-glossy. They almost cover the entire plant that grows up to a height of 4 feet to 5 feet. Although the plants are winter hardy, they are susceptible to black spot.
